If your microwave is arcing or sparking during cooking, it may be that the waveguide cover is damaged. This metallic type material, which is a blend of mica and is invisible to microwaves, it covers the aperture that the microwaves pass through to get into the oven cavity. When old damp or contaminated can react to microwaves by arcing.

Fantastic..

In a total panic when the papery thingy inside the microwave fell apart, as I hadn't a clue what it was nor how to replace it. WTF!! The instructions just said not to use the machine without it! It was the wave-guide cover apparently :(

Frantic "Google" and found these people, all sorted on-line, being a Sunday, and arrived pronto in the post on Tuesday.
In fact, they sent three or four - (I think I paid for two), but whatever "Well done"! Life savers.
Have kept their details in the event of similar event, as having now bothered to look, my other two microwaves, both varying makes, also have a similar dodgy part. Who knew!!

Good fit into each of the two microwaves I now have- too good to recycle the old one!

Care putting them in. Carefully clean in situ as I broke two by removing them to clean in the dishwasher! With constant use they can get soft and inflexible-so I bought 2 sets of two to last!

Thank you. its probably best to leave them in place and wipe with a slightly damp cloth if needed, maybe even cover the food if possible so the covers don't get splashed.
