how to find microwave model and serial number

Note: In the interest of safety, please make sure your appliance is unplugged from the mains and that the area you are working in is safe.

Where is the model number?

This can be found by opening the door and viewing the information sticker located on the left hand side of the control panel. Alternatively your model number may be located on the back of the oven.

Examples

·         Panasonic Microwave ovens it can start with NN-

·         Sharp Microwave ovens R-

·         Samsung, starting with usually a letter such as A or C but there are many others!

·         Kenwood can start with K2, ST or CJ

Why do I need to know my model number?

If your Microwave is needing spare parts then you'll need to know this. Microwaves aren't generic inside although many parts can be, not all are. Having the model number means you can find the exact parts your oven needs.

Where's my serial number?

This is located on the same sticker as the model number. The serial number can help identify your machine even more. Although to you it may be a string of random numbers and letters it can help a manufacturer find out exactly when it was made, what parts are inside it etc. Normally a long string of numbers and letters and may be on top of a barcode or in a separate box itself.
